  • Key Principles of the English Legal System: A two-week compulsory induction for non-law students, or those needing a refresher in the fundamentals of the law of England and Wales.
  • Compulsory Modules:
  • Environmental Law:
  • Provides an overview of foundational themes, principles, and sources of law for environmental protection. It also considers key legal mechanisms for achieving environmental objectives and focuses on climate change, habitat loss and nature conservation, water quality, and biodiversity.
  • Research Methods Training: Prepares students for their dissertation.

Term 3 (full-time) or 5-6 (part-time)

  • Dissertation in Environmental Law: A 15,000-word thesis that allows for in-depth investigation and reflection on a chosen specialist area.

  • Modules: Assessed by a three-hour unseen written examination or a 4,500-word coursework assignment.
