Program Overview
The online Master of Laws (LLM) in Insurance Law is a postgraduate program offered by The University of Law. This program enhances academic knowledge in insurance law and provides support for careers in the insurance industry, banking, wealth and asset management, compliance, regulation, and more. Students will be taught by expert lecturers, benefit from strategic partnerships, and improve their employability by gaining important transferable skills and mapping their career with the careers team.

General Arts and Science – College Exploration (Welland) Program at Niagara College
Degree Overview:
This program is designed for students who are interested in exploring college-level courses before committing to a specific field of study. It allows students to design their own interdisciplinary program, helping them determine their postsecondary path and prepare for further education or the workforce.
Objectives:
- Gain marketable skills and potentially receive transferable credits to other college or university programs.
- Explore various subjects of interest, including counselling, current events, film studies, fitness, forensic sciences, global studies, health sciences, health and wellness, history, languages, life sciences, music, psychology, and sociology.
- Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Gain insight into self and society.
- Develop a sense of personal and social responsibility.
Outline:
The program is a one-year certificate program offered at the Welland campus. It is also available at the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus and online.
Term one (2024 Fall):
- COMM1020 - College Communications - Unraveled: 3 credits
- STDV1180 - Academic and Career Preparation: 3 credits
Term two (2025 Winter):
- SOCL1430 - Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Canada: 3 credits
- COMM1133 - Writing Strategies: 3 credits
Electives:
- Completion of additional General Education elective 1 course required
- Completion of additional electives (3 units) required
- Completion of one Mathematics course (3 units) required

- Graduates of this program may transfer to the 2-year General Arts and Science diploma program.
- Students are responsible for ensuring they have a Microsoft Windows 10 based desktop or laptop system that meets the specified technology requirements.
