The Honors Program: Traditional Pathway offers a customized Liberal Education Program designed by students in consultation with the Honors Director. It requires 44 credits, including core courses in ethics, gender and identity, global consciousness, and human diversity, as well as a self-designed program of study. The program fosters critical thinking, interdisciplinary exploration, and a deep understanding of diverse perspectives.

The Honors Program: Traditional Pathway is a substitute for the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum. Students, in consultation with the Honors Director and Honors Review Board, design a custom Liberal Education Program.

The program requires a total of 44 credits, including:

  • Required Courses:
  • HONR 140 Introduction to Honors (3 credits)
  • HONR 487 Honors Seminar (3 credits)
  • Honors Core: Students take one course from each of the following four categories for a total of 12 credits.
  • Courses chosen must be from more than one discipline.
