Program Overview

This fully sponsored program prepares students for careers as marine electro-technical officers. Through a combination of classroom instruction, practical workshops, and seafaring experience, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to operate and maintain electronic navigational systems, electrical equipment, and control systems on ships. Graduates are equipped to meet industry standards and pursue further professional qualifications.

• Warsash Maritime School has a full range of industry-leading training facilities, including an ETO lab for electronic navigational systems operations and maintenance of items such as radars, navigational aids, and control systems.
• The program includes seafaring experience, which is built into the course, offering real-world experience.
• Graduates will gain their first qualification as an Engineering Officer of the Watch and be equipped with all the knowledge and understanding needed to undertake tasks as detailed in the industry-based onboard training – and with academic exemptions for further professional qualifications under the internationally recognized Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) and UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) regulations.
