Program Outline

Degree Overview:

This accredited course will prepare you to work with a social work student on your final placement. You will develop a practice curriculum for the placement and learn how to manage a placement. You will also develop the necessary skills to support, mentor and teach the student and learn how to assess their achievement. In this second module, you will also develop your reflective supervision skills. You will put these skills into practice by providing a 100-day placement to a social work student. You will then have the opportunity to reflect on and evaluate your practice curriculum as part of your assessment.

Outline:

  • This course is taught on day release.
  • Study days run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Assessment:

You will be assessed by presenting a portfolio of evidence, including documents you have been working on with your student throughout the year. You will also be required to produce an essay on an innovative teaching and learning model you have used with your student.
