Minor in Humanities

Program Overview

The Humanities minor at SF State is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the study of arts and ideas in their cultural contexts. The program has a core of 6 units, including 3 units of HUM 303 and 3 units from either HUM 415 or HUM 500. Students must also complete 9 units of electives from HUM-prefix courses, with at least 6 units being upper-division. The program's learning outcomes include the ability to place an expressive work in its cultural context and articulate differences, similarities, and relationships represented by cultural works.
