Program Overview
This Associate of Science program in Computer Science and Liberal Arts equips students with foundational knowledge in computer science and web design. The program prepares students for entry-level roles in web development, computer operations, and technical support, with a strong focus on programming, data structures, and computer architecture. Degree Overview:
The Associate of Science in Computer Science, Liberal Arts program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computer science principles and applications. It prepares students to continue their education in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program, and also provides them with skills and knowledge applicable to various entry-level roles in the technology industry.
Objectives:
- Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in specialized knowledge/applied learning, quantitative fluency, communication fluency, critical thinking, personal and social responsibility, and information literacy.
- Graduates will be able to design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program's discipline.
- Graduates will be able to evaluate and apply relevant information to communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
- Graduates will be able to apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.

- The program requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 in all CMU coursework and in coursework toward the major content area.
- The program is 60 semester hours total.
- Students must complete a minimum of 15 of the final 30 semester hours of credit at CMU/WCCC.
