Program Overview
The Women's and Gender Studies Minor at Central Michigan University is a 15-semester hour program designed to provide an interdisciplinary understanding of women and gender. The program recognizes the importance of gender studies in various disciplines and occupations, and prepares students for careers in fields such as social work, counseling, education, business, and the arts. To earn the minor, students must complete courses in at least three disciplines, with a minimum of 33% of credits in 300-level or higher courses.

The Women's and Gender Studies Minor is a 15-semester hour program designed to provide students with an interdisciplinary understanding of issues related to women and gender. The program recognizes the centrality of gender in a variety of disciplines, professions, and personal experiences and world views. The minor is designed to augment students' chosen majors, preparing them for careers and/or further studies in social work, counseling, law, education, business, and the arts.

- Requirements:
- 15-24 semester hours
- Courses must be taken in at least three disciplines.
- At least 33 percent of the credit hours must be in courses numbered 300 or above.
- At least 25 percent of the classes must be taken at CMU.
- 2.00 cumulative GPA or higher for the courses used for the minor.
- A minor must be outside the major field of study.

- Graduation Process: The minor must be combined with a baccalaureate degree outside the major field of study. Students should follow the graduation process outlined for the baccalaureate degree and list their majors and minors on the "Intent to Graduate" form.
