The Vocal Music Minor provides comprehensive training for students seeking to enhance their vocal abilities. Audition is required, and the program culminates in a 24-semester hour curriculum with emphasis on higher-level coursework and CMU-based instruction.

The Vocal Music Minor provides training and performance opportunities for students seeking music development in voice as their secondary area of study. Fundamental studies in piano, music reading and theory, two years of voice lessons, three years of performing in choral ensembles, studies in diction and conducting, and performance training in opera scenes comprise this minor. Audition for acceptance into the Vocal Minor is required.

The Vocal Music Minor is a 24-semester hour program. At least 33 percent of the credit hours required for the minor must be in courses numbered 300 or above. At least 25 percent of the classes must be taken at CMU. 00 cumulative GPA or higher for the courses used for the minor. The Catalog Year determines which program sheet and degree requirements a student must fulfill in order to graduate.
