This Coaching and Mentoring in Health and Social Care module is designed to enable you to explore the context, theory and application of coaching and mentoring within health and social care organisations.
Objectives:
This broad-based syllabus aims to cover:
- the rationale for coaching and mentoring in health and social care organisations
- principles, theories, models underpinning C&M and its practice within organisations
- research and critical evaluation in coaching and mentoring
- identifying and applying the core skills of coaching/mentoring in practice
- self-assessment and personal development in coaching and mentoring
- structure and frameworks to support developmental conversations and relationships over time
- contracting and review in coach/mentoring relationships
- developing a coaching/ mentoring culture – the principles and practice of organisational assessment, implementation and evaluation
- supervision in coaching and mentoring.

You will be assessed 100% through coursework.

- You must normally be from a healthcare background and have support from a manager to undertake this module of study. An IELTS overall score of 6.5 is required for this course.
