Degree Overview:
This PhD program focuses on understanding the acute oncology pathway from the perspectives of patients, acute oncology staff, and other Health Care Professionals (HCPs). The program consists of a systematic review, interviews with acute oncology patients and HCPs, and a national survey of acute oncology HCPs. It will involve engaging service users and obtaining HRA approval.
Teaching:
The studentship requires the student to undertake teaching equivalent to up to 6 hours per week on average during semester time, including preparation and marking (but no more than 20 hours per week). The student will also participate in a teaching skills course without further remuneration.
- The PhD would suit a researcher with experience in cancer, health care, or health services research or a health care professional with research experience.
- Some prior experience of qualitative research and/or survey design would be desirable.
- Experience with individuals with cancer would be favourable.
University fees and bench fees will be met by the University for the 3 years of the funded Studentship.
