  • Course Structure: This flexible distance learning (online) course can be completed within a minimum period of one year for the CPD Certificate (CREIF) and PG Diploma, or extended up to two years.
  • The MSc can be completed in a minimum of 18 months, extended to five years. The program comprises four subject modules taken by all students, with two additional research modules for MSc REIF students. Each module is designed around six learning packages and is a "stand-alone" module, allowing students to start at any point.

  • This module focuses on understanding the fundamentals and principles of the real estate investment market through six learning packages: Investment Mathematics, Assets, Markets and Drivers, The Development Process, Asset Management, Property Portfolio Management, and Property Financial Management.
  • Applied Real Estate Valuation (30 credits): This module compares and contrasts the perspectives of real estate valuer and capital market valuation in real estate valuation through six learning packages: Valuation concepts and the appraisal process, Valuation standards, Valuation techniques, Valuation modelling, Sustainability and property valuations, and Due diligence.
  • Real Estate Finance and Investment (30 credits): This module provides a framework for understanding the financial and business context of a real estate organization through six learning packages: Financial reporting and the property business, Interpreting the Financial Performance of Property Businesses, Sources and costs of capital, Investment appraisal and management of risk, Property-backed securities, and Property taxation.
  • Legal and Regulatory Considerations (30 credits): This module integrates regulatory and tax principles and issues implicit in other modules through six learning packages: Legal structures, The Regulatory Environment and Regulatory Bodies, The Regulations, The Listing Process and On-Going Compliance, Foreign Investment Considerations and Unlisted Funds, and Money Laundering Prevention and Taxation.
  • Applied Research Methods (10 credits): Compulsory for MSc students only.
  • This module complements the MSc program by developing research skills and enabling students to draw on core modules to inform and direct dissertation subject choices.
