Program Overview
This specialization in Social Inequalities at the University of Toronto deepens understanding of social inequalities based on gender, race, disability, age, class, and sexuality, preparing students for careers in activism, social justice, and human resources. It combines core courses on intersecting social inequalities, gender, homelessness, sexuality, and ethnicities with electives ranging from work and social inequalities to human rights theory and practice. The program fosters critical thinking, research skills, and collaboration with leading faculty.

Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a single- or joint-major degree in Sociology may graduate with this specialization if they have successfully completed 4.0 SOCI credits in the chosen Specialization category.
