This Specialization in Economics program within the B.B.A. degree provides students with a deeper understanding of micro and macroeconomics, international finance, and the forces that shape our economy.   • Specialization in Economics: A specialization in Economics is the perfect academic pursuit for B.B.A.
  • students wanting to develop a deeper understanding of the problems that face the business world, along with the theories and techniques that are being used to solve these issues. Hone your skills as a creative and innovative business thought leader and explore a range of topics in micro and macroeconomics, and international finance.
  • Program Requirements: Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a Bachelor of Business Administration or a joint-major Honours degree in Business Administration may graduate with a Specialization in Economics if they have successfully completed the following 5.5 credits with a minimum grade of 65% in each:

  • 4.0 ECON credits consisting of:
  • ECON 1010H: Introductory Microeconomics
  • ECON 1020H: Introductory Macroeconomics
  • ECON-ADMN 1250H: Introduction to Mathematics for Economics and Management
  • ECON 2000H: Intermediate Microeconomic Theory I
  • ECON 2010H: Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory I
  • ECON-ADMN 2200H: Introduction to Statistics for Economics and Management
  • ECON-ADMN 3020H: Financial Economics
  • ECON-ADMN 3120H: International Finance
  • 0.5 credit from:
  • ADMN 3610H: Introduction to Business Analytics; or 0.5 ECON credit in addition to the above
  • 0.5 credit from:

  • Featured: Actuary, Mathematicians and statisticians research mathematical or statistical theories, and develop and apply mathematical or statistical techniques for solving problems in such fields as science, engineering, business and social science.
  • Actuaries apply mathematics, statistics, probability and risk theory to assess potential financial impacts of future events. Mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries are employed by universities, governments, bank and trust companies, insurance companies, pension benefit consulting firms, professional associations, and science and engineering consulting firms.
