The Accomplished Teaching for Student Impact Graduate Certificate prepares P-12 teachers for National Board Certification, providing support and feedback in alignment with the certification's four components. It is available online or in a hybrid format, with courses covering teaching methodologies, differentiated instruction, diversity and equity, and assessment. Teachers who achieve National Board Certification enhance their careers, earn higher salaries, and gain professional recognition.

Program Outline

The program is available fully online and in a hybrid format. The certificate prepares P-12 teachers in Maryland to submit for National Board Certification. Teachers who attain National Board Certification advance in their careers, earn higher salaries, and gain stature within the profession. The 12-unit certificate provides students with support and feedback on critical aspects and requirements of the National Board Certification process. Each course is aligned with one of the four components of National Board Certification.

• SCED 647 Advanced Processes of Teaching and Learning (3): Aligned to Foundational Competencies of National Board Certification and Component 1
• ELED 648 Differentiating Instruction for Advanced Learning (3): Aligned to Component 2 of National Board Certification
• EDUC 660 Matters of Diversity, Equity and Empowerment in Learning Communities (3): Aligned to Component 3 of National Board Certification
• SPED 632 Assessment Issues for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students (3): Aligned to Component 4 of National Board Certification
