Degree Overview:

Students in this joint master’s program have the opportunity to earn a degree from both Towson University and the University of Baltimore. Students may take courses at TU, UB or online. The accounting and business advisory services master’s degree program is accredited by AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the highest standard for business education. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a variety of accounting and business advisory roles. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, auditing, tax, and business advisory services. The program also includes courses on leadership, communication, and ethics. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, government accounting, and other related fields.


Careers:

If you already hold a bachelor's degree in accounting from another institution, the additional specialized accounting coursework will count towards Maryland's 150-hour requirement to become licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Maryland and many other states. Students with bachelor’s degrees in other fields are eligible for the program but must complete additional preparatory course work. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, government accounting, and other related fields.
