Program Overview

This 9-week life drawing course provides foundational principles and techniques for capturing the human form. Students explore various media and techniques, developing critical analysis skills and producing a final piece accompanied by an oral assessment. The course emphasizes practical exercises and discussions, introducing new technical principles and fine art theories each week.

• Course Content: This course takes life drawing back to its fundamental theories focusing on how the body is constructed both in its individual parts and as a whole.
Students will develop the ability to capture the human form in a variety of media, learning to manipulate the medium appropriate to the subject matter as well as studying the theories of image making.

• Assessment Method: Students will be assessed in their final week, producing a final piece of work accompanied by an oral assessment of their progression and use of their acquired knowledge within their practical piece.

Fine Art theories are included across the course to allow for both technique and theory to develop in unison.
