Program Overview
This six-week, blended learning module provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary for independent advocacy practice. It covers topics such as the principles of independent advocacy, maintaining an advocacy relationship, and applying independent advocacy principles in a simulated meeting. Upon successful completion, students will have a deep understanding of the advocacy process and its application in various settings.

Teaching & Assessment:
- There will be two summative assessments for this module:
- Students will work as a group to produce a presentation that analyses the key issues in developing an independent advocacy relationship and evaluates the key issues in maintaining this relationship.
- Students will identify an issue relevant to practice and participate in a simulated meeting to demonstrate the application of independent advocacy principles and purpose.
Assessment:
- Two summative assessments:
- Group presentation: Analyzing key issues in developing and maintaining independent advocacy relationships.
