The Occupational Therapy Doctoral Degree (OTD) is a 108-credit, entry-level program that emphasizes the understanding that engagement in everyday activities is essential to the development, adaptation, and well-being of individuals and populations across the lifespan. The program prepares students to assist clients who are limited by physical, cognitive, psychosocial, developmental, and environmental conditions in order to maximize their independence and maintain optimum health and wellness.

  • To prepare students to be leaders in the field of occupational therapy.
  • To promote research and scholarship in occupational therapy.

Program Description:

The OTD program is a full-time, three-year program. The first year of the program consists of didactic coursework in the basic sciences, occupational therapy theory and practice, and research methods. The second year of the program consists of clinical fieldwork experiences in a variety of settings. The third year of the program consists of advanced coursework in occupational therapy theory and practice, research methods, and leadership.
