Program Overview

This graduate program offers two options: a thesis option requiring 30 credit hours, including a thesis, and a non-thesis option requiring 36 credit hours, including a project and report. Both options require a comprehensive oral examination and at least one credit hour in the seminar class AGRO 7001. • Thesis Option:

• No more than six hours can be thesis credit hours.
• At least 15 credit hours in courses at or above the 7000-level (including up to 3 hours of thesis credit).
• At least one credit hour in the seminar class, AGRO 7001.
• A minimum of 6 hours of thesis credit.
• Students must pass a comprehensive oral examination (thesis defense).
• Publication in peer-reviewed journals is encouraged.
• Non-Thesis Option:
• Requires a minimum of 36 credit hours at the graduate level.
• Suitable for students with full-time employment.
• At least one credit hour in the seminar class, AGRO 7001.
• Completion of a short project and a written report.
• Students must pass a comprehensive oral examination.

Assessment:

• Students must pass a comprehensive oral examination for both the thesis and non-thesis options.
• Thesis option includes thesis defense.
• Non-thesis option includes a short project and a written report.
