The Software Engineering and Management certificate program is designed for industry practitioners and individuals with formal computing education. It provides a focused education without requiring a full Master's degree.
Assessment:
- GPA: Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better on the required courses.
- Minimum Grade: The minimum grade for any course to be applied toward the certificate is a grade of C.
- Transfer Credits: No credits may be transferred from another institution for this certificate.
Other:
- Program Completion: Completing the graduate certificate program does not guarantee automatic admission to the MSIT program, especially if the student lacks a BS degree in computing or a related discipline.
- MSIT Program Recognition: Students who are admitted to the MSIT program within three years of earning the certificate will receive recognition for their certificate coursework.
- Transfer Credits (MSIT): Up to nine (9) credit hours from the certificate program may be transferred to the MSIT degree program, at the discretion of the degree-granting program and the Graduate Division.
- Exceptional Preparation (MSIT): Completing the certificate program within three years, with a grade of B or better, is considered exceptional preparation and may warrant a waiver of coursework completed during the certificate program and not transferred to the MSIT program.
