Program Overview
UCF's Accelerated BS to MS program in Computer Science allows eligible undergraduate students to earn up to 12 graduate-level credits towards their MS degree. Students must opt in by their junior year and earn a "B" or better in all courses counted towards the program. To be eligible, students must have at least a "B" average in their undergraduate coursework and apply for admission to the MS program after completing their bachelor's degree requirements.

Degree Overview:
The Accelerated BS to MS program in Computer Science at UCF is designed for highly qualified undergraduate Computer Science majors. It allows students to take graduate-level courses that count towards their MS degree while completing their BS degree program.
Objectives:
The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of advanced computer science concepts and prepare them for successful careers in the field.
Program Description:
- Up to 12 credit hours of 5000- and 6000-level courses with a grade of "B" (3.0) or better can be counted towards the accelerated BS to MS program.
- Students must earn at least a "B" (3.0) in each undergraduate- or graduate-level course counted for the program.
- Students must opt for this program no later than the beginning of their junior year.
- The transition from the BS to MS program is not automatic. Students must apply for admission to the MS program after completing their undergraduate degree requirements.
- Only after joining the program can students use the 5xxx/6xxx credit hours earned during their undergraduate years towards the MS degree completion requirements.
- Total Credit Hours Required: 30 Credit Hours Minimum beyond the Bachelor's Degree
Other:
- This track is available to University of Central Florida undergraduate majors in Computer Science only.
- At least half of the credit hours of both thesis and nonthesis students must be at the 6000 level.
- At least two 6000-level Computer Science formal courses (6 credit hours) must be taught by EECS faculty, exclusive of independent study and directed research.
- A total of 24 credit hours of formal courses must be earned exclusive of thesis.
- Approval may be granted for no more than 6 credit hours of electives to be taken outside of Computer Science, and such approval must occur prior to taking these outside courses.
