Program Overview
DePaul's Sound Recording Technology program equips students for careers as sound engineers through a combination of music courses and specialized training in music technology. Students gain hands-on experience in recording, mixing, and sound design in state-of-the-art facilities. The program offers two tracks: Performance and Audio Technology, and provides a pathway to a combined bachelor's and master's degree. Degree Overview:
DePaul's Sound Recording Technology program prepares students for a career in the audio industry as a sound engineer. The program combines standard music courses with extensive training in contemporary music technology. Students gain experience in recording, mixing, and sound design, with classes and practical sessions taking place in the Murray and Michelle Allen recording suite, which features a NEVE console, Pro Tools recording, and Genelec surround sound monitoring. They also work on sound reinforcement and lighting in the Holtschneider Performance Center concert halls.
