Program Overview

Through hands-on training in Apple's Logic Pro X, students learn to write soundtracks, create emotionally resonant scores, and harness industry-standard software for professional-sounding results. The program emphasizes practical application and is suitable for students with a basic ability in audio or MIDI recording.

• Course Schedule: Jul 9 - Aug 1 (TUES & THUR 1PM - 4PM)
• Individual Modules:
• Overview of how music interacts with media
• Basics of writing and composing
• “The dramatic arc” from a composer’s point of view
• Detailed explanation of Logic’s powerful tools (MIDI editing, audio recording, electronic music production, building beats, mixing, virtual instruments, synthesizers, and how to produce professional sounding music).
• Module Descriptions:
• Basics of writing and composing: Introduces fundamental principles of music composition, including melody, harmony, rhythm, and form.
• “The dramatic arc” from a composer’s point of view: Explores the role of music in storytelling and how to create emotionally resonant scores.
