Illustration to Animation

Program Overview

This elective in Illustration and Animation introduces teens to both traditional and digital illustration, including the use of animation tools to create dynamic visuals. Through hands-on drawing exercises, students master the fundamentals of pose, movement, and expression, and then apply these principles to create their own animated sequences using digital technologies. This intensive complements the Art and Design Pre-College Foundations program but can also be taken independently.

• Content: This elective explores both traditional and digital illustration and introduces the tools to make illustrations come alive with animation!
• Structure: Teens will learn the basics of pose, movement, and expression through a process of drawing and create animated sequences in the digital time-based media technologies of animators.
• Course Schedule: Jul 8 - Aug 1 (MON & WED 1PM - 4PM)

While this intensive may be taken independently, it is an elective that is designed to work in conjunction with our Art and Design Pre-College Foundations program.
