The Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program at Gannon University is a Bachelor's to Doctorate program designed for students who want to become an Occupational Therapist. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). The program is focused on providing students with a comprehensive understanding of occupational therapy and its application to diverse populations. The program is designed to prepare students for a variety of career paths in the field of occupational therapy. The OTD program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the theory and practice of occupational therapy. The curriculum is designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to provide effective and ethical occupational therapy services to individuals of all ages. The program is also designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the field of occupational therapy. The OTD program offers a variety of opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience. Students will complete a variety of clinical rotations in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools, and community-based organizations. Teaching:
The program's nationally-recognized faculty presents a wealth of knowledge and experience. Students will receive guidance and support from a professional mentor, upper-level peer mentor, and faculty advisor. Experiential-learning facets are fulfilled throughout each course in the program. The program requires all students to submit scholarly work for presentation or publication. The program provides multiple service-learning opportunities which develop a stronger community both within and outside the University.
