Program Overview
This module enhances healthcare providers' abilities to recognize and manage common childhood illnesses. It covers assessment of child health and development, diagnosis and management of common illnesses, and legal and professional issues. The program is designed for both adult and pediatric healthcare professionals who regularly treat children.

Degree Overview:
This module will enhance the ability of health care providers to recognise and manage the health care needs of children presenting with common childhood illnesses, within an evidence-based context. This module is for both adult and paediatric trained health care professionals. You need to be treating/attending to children as part of your practice.

This module will focus on developing the following knowledge and skills:

Timetables:
The teaching timetable should be available from the end of August. Access to the timetable is through the Student Hub – you will be able to access the Student Hub after you have completed online registration. The teaching day is 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday; please keep your other commitments open until confirmation of your teaching timetable, and bear in mind that many courses will offer placements or fieldwork which sometimes extends into the evenings and weekends.
Entry requirements:
- Suitable for Advanced Clinical Practitioners / Clinical Nurse Specialists working in all areas of children's (diagnostic) care.
- You must be seeing children in your clinical practice on a regular basis and have studied successfully at level 6.
- This module is for any registered health professional who has previously studied at level 6 and has undertaken a Physical Examination and Assessment module at a minimum of level 6. Students need to be working with children as part of their practice.
- Students must participate in the formative components of the module in order to pass the module.
