Degree Overview:
This program, offered as a Master of Science (MS) or a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS), aims to equip students with advanced techniques in health promotion, disease prevention, assessment, and treatment of psychiatric diseases and disorders across the lifespan. The curriculum emphasizes a primary health care and lifespan focus with specific attention to health disparities and the care of vulnerable populations. The program incorporates strategies such as treatment, medication management, case management, and individual, family, and group therapy. It meets the ANCC requirements for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification.
Curriculum Notice:
Students admitted into the MS program for Fall 2024 will be enrolled into a revised curriculum that includes 49 credits and 760 clinical hours. Students admitted into the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies will have a program plan developed by the program director based on a gap analysis.

The program utilizes both synchronous and asynchronous online classes, along with on-campus intensives. Students gain practical experience through simulated patient experiences and advanced skills labs facilitated by the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation.
