Program Outline

Degree Overview:

This course is designed to provide students with the ability to analyse the concept of organisational resilience and evaluate how resilience can be built within a contemporary organisation. The course investigates the forces driving organisational resilience, as well as the potential barriers to building resilience in an organisation. The domains and elements of resilience are identified and analysed. The relevant and up-to-date ISO and BSI standards will be drawn on considerably in the delivery of this module. The relevant theoretical principles and models relating to change and resilience as well as resistance to change will be considered and applied in the context of building organisational resilience. Consideration is given to the way(s) in which organisations become more resilient and the drivers and barriers relating to resilience.

Outline:

This course is mapped to the CMI module Implementing Organisational Change Strategies (7010V1) and students have the option, following payment of an additional fee, to attempt the assessment for this CMI module. While studying online you will have access to your tutor who will be able to answer any questions you may have. You will study 2 topics per week.

Other:

Students are expected to engage in wider reading around each of the topics within the module. There will be directed reading as well as guidance on wider reading. The majority of this course is completed through online independent study, it is expected that you will spend approximately 6-9 hours per week working on this module.
