Degree Overview:

Computer Networking and Cloud Security (including foundation year) - BEng (Hons)

This program is a four-year degreeコース with a built-in foundation year (Year 0). It's designed for those who haven't met the traditional entry requirements for university courses or want to gain foundational knowledge before embarking on a three-year degree.

Objectives:

  • Equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in the computer networking and cyber security industry.
  • Expose students to the importance of network security, threats to network infrastructure, and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop technical expertise in network security through Cisco Networking Academy and Palo Alto Academy certifications.
  • Enable graduates to pursue postgraduate study to enhance their career prospects.

Program Description:

Year 0 focuses on fundamental concepts like cyber security, programming, logic, communications, and mathematics. These crucial skills prepare students for the following three years. Years 1, 2, and 3 entail exploring core modules (Cyber Security Fundamentals, Communications Engineering, Network Operating Systems, etc.) alongside specialized tracks (Cyber Security Operations, Network Security 1 & 2, Next Gen Firewalls, etc.). Students can choose options like Ethical Hacking, IoT Systems and Security, and Broadband Systems 2 to personalize their learning journey.
