The Biotechnology Technician program equips students with the necessary laboratory skills, technical knowledge, and fundamental understanding to succeed in various careers within the Biotechnology and Life Science industries. Entry Requirements:
Canadian Applicants
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with six 4U or M courses.
- Four mandatory 4U/M courses:
- English (ENG4U or ENG4M)
- Grade 12 Mathematics (MDM4U, MCR3U, MTH4U, MCF3M or any other math at the 4U or M level)
- Grade 11 or Grade 12 Biology (SBI3U or SBI4U)
- Two additional 4U or M courses from any subject, with the exception of the following courses:
- English as a Second Language (ESL), ESL/D, and/ or ELD
- Cooperative Education (CEU or CEO)
- Community Involvement (CIA or CCO)
- English Proficiency: Applicants for whom English is not a first language require an appropriate English Language Test Score:
- TOEFL (iBT or Revised Paper-Based Test): minimum 82 (iBT) or minimum 565 (paper)
- IELTS: minimum 7.0 overall band score with no band less than 6.0
- CAEL: minimum overall score of 70 with no individual band score lower than 60
- Duolingo: minimum of 105
International Applicants with University Transcripts
- Minimum 2 years (4 semesters) of post-secondary studies with an appropriate science-based program (minimum GPA requirement depends on the program and applicant's country of origin - contact Conestoga for details)

- Students who do not meet the above English language requirements may be able to take an English language assessment test offered through Conestoga's Language Services.

- Completion of an online admission application and a $95.00 non-refundable application fee.
