Program Description:

This program provides students with the knowledge and skills required for various electrical-related careers. Students will learn about the principles of electricity, electrical safety codes, and blueprint reading. They will also develop hands-on skills through extensive shop time, covering residential, commercial, and industrial wiring methods. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of control systems, PLCs, and automation. Levels 1 and 2 of the Ontario electrical apprenticeship schooling are embedded in the program, giving students a significant advantage when entering the workforce. The optional co-op stream further enhances students' employability by providing them with three work terms in the field. Domestic students:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, including:
  • Four Grade 12 U or M courses, including:
  • English (ENG4U or ENG4C)
  • Mathematics (MDM4U, MCR3U, MTH4U, MFM2P, or MFM4U)
  • Two additional Grade 12 U or M courses in any subject (except English or the same subject as your first math selection).
  • Recommended courses:
  • Physics (SBI3U or SPH4U)
  • Technological Design (TDG3M or TDG4M)
  • Minimum average of 65%

International Students:

  • Equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with:
  • Four Grade 12 U or M courses, including:
  • English (ENG4U or equivalent)
  • Mathematics (MDM4U or equivalent)
  • Two additional Grade 12 U or M courses in any subject (except English or the same subject as your first math selection).
  • Recommended courses:
  • Physics (SBI3U or SPH4U)
  • Technological Design (TDG3M or TDG4M)
  • Minimum average of 60%
  • English Language Proficiency:
  • Minimum score of 7.5 on the IELTS Academic test
  • Minimum score of 95 on the TOEFL IBT
  • Completion of Conestoga's English for Academic Purposes program with a minimum grade of 80%
