This program is designed for students who want to pursue a career in the health sciences field at Conestoga College. It prepares you for application to their advanced diploma or degree health programs, including:

- Bachelor of Applied Biotechnology

Upon successful completion of the Pre-Health Sciences program, you can also apply to Conestoga College's health sciences one-year certificate or two-year diploma programs.

Module Descriptions:
- Introduction to Health Sciences: This module will explore the various careers in healthcare and the different types of healthcare facilities. Students will also learn about the history of healthcare and the current trends in the field.
- Medical Terminology: This module will introduce students to the basics of medical terminology. Students will learn how to read and understand medical terms, as well as how to use them effectively in written and oral communication. Topics covered will include the structure and function of the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.
- Healthcare Communication Skills: This module will help students develop the communication skills they need to be successful in healthcare. Topics covered will include effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- College Success Skills: This module will introduce students to the skills they need to be successful in college. Topics covered will include time management, study skills, and note-taking.
- Introduction to Research: This module will teach students the basics of research methodology. Topics covered will include how to identify a research question, develop a research plan, and collect and analyze data.
- Introduction to Health Informatics: This module will introduce students to the field of health informatics. Topics covered will include the use of technology in healthcare, the electronic health record, and health data analytics.
