Program Overview


This part-time or full-time program in Digital Culture offers a comprehensive curriculum with modules in digital culture, media, and technology. Students engage in interactive classes, workshops, and practical demonstrations, developing skills in digital media design, communication, and analysis. Graduates are prepared for careers in media, cultural industries, and related fields, or for further postgraduate study.

This program offers two pathways:

  • 4 years part-time, on campus: starting October 2024
  • 3 years full-time, on campus: starting October 2024

Both pathways consist of the same modules:

  • Level 4:
  • Introduction to Digital Culture
  • + 3 Level 4 options from a list.
  • Level 5:
  • Designing Digitally
  • Media, Technology and Culture
  • + 2 Level 5 options from a list.
  • Level 6:
  • Communicating Digitally
  • + 2 Level 6 options from a list.
  • Final-year Project

Assessment:

  • Essays: Traditional essays and a variety of alternative and creative methods of assessment.
  • Other assessments: Writing exercises, audiovisual presentations, digital media designs and applications, conceptual representations, and online or mobile diaries.

Teaching:

  • Small, highly interactive classes
  • Lectures, seminars, small-group work, discussion groups, tutorials, creative workshops, practical demonstrations, training and experimentation, guest lectures and media-related tours and online platforms.
  • Foundation Year consists mainly of interactive lectures for large groups and tutorial-style classes.
  • Evening hours are normally between 6pm and 9pm.

Tuition fees for students continuing on their course in following years may be subject to annual inflationary increases. Tuition fee and maintenance loans Eligible full-time and part-time students from the UK don’t have to pay any tuition fees upfront, as government loans are available to cover them. Maintenance loans are also available for eligible full-time and part-time UK students, to assist with covering living costs, such as accommodation, food, travel, books and study materials.
