Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.50 in all LAS and General Education requirements and a GPA of 3.00 or greater in courses for the Teacher Education in Spanish major, including education courses.

  • Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00 in all LAS and General Education requirements and a GPA of 3.00/4.00 or greater in courses for the Teacher Education in Spanish major, including education courses.
  • The teaching license is not automatically awarded upon successful completion of licensure and degree requirements.
  • The candidate must file an application for the Illinois teaching license with the Council on Teacher Education.
  • The candidate must also pass a series of examinations required by the Illinois State Board of Education.
  • The Content Area Test must be passed before the candidate is allowed to student teach.
