  • 3 A-levels including Biology and at least one from Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics or Physics with a minimum grade of C (or equivalent).
  • 2 A-levels including Biology and a minimum grade of C in Applied Science (or equivalent), Geography, Mathematics or Physics.
  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (180 credits) with 100 credits at Distinction grade and 80 credits at Merit grade in Applied Science (or equivalent), Biology, Biological Sciences, etc.
  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (1080 Guided Learning Hours) with at least 540 credits at Distinction grade and 540 credits at Merit grade in Applied Science (or equivalent), Biology, Biological Sciences, etc.
  • Graduates with a 2:2 Honours Degree or equivalent, with subject requirements also met.

Republic of Ireland (ROI) Applicants:

  • Higher Level grade H4/H3 in Biology is required for Irish Leaving Certificate applicants.
  • Higher Level grade H3 in Chemistry is preferred for Irish Leaving Certificate applicants.
  • Higher Level grade H3 in Mathematics is preferred for Irish Leaving Certificate applicants.
  • If not offered at Higher Level, Chemistry and Mathematics can be fulfilled at Ordinary Level with a minimum grade of O4.
  • A maximum of one BTEC Subsidiary Diploma/National Extended Certificate (or equivalent) will be accepted as part of an applicant's portfolio of qualifications.
  • International A-level General Studies and A-level Critical Thinking would not normally be considered as part of a three A-level offer.
  • Applicants are not normally asked to attend for interview.

International Applicants:

  • IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each test component or an equivalent acceptable qualification.
