This 17-week full-time or two-year part-time online program in Environmental Management consists of four 15-credit papers. Assessments include essays and online tests. Graduates may find entry-level environmental positions or progress to higher-level studies.

Structure:
This program consists of four papers, each worth 15 credits: ENV401 Introduction to Ecology and Conservation ENV402 Marine Ecology and Freshwater Ecology EVN403 Resource Management and Environmental Law ENV404 Conservation Management
Assessment: Assessments are typically essays and online tests (essay, short answer, and multiple-choice questions).
Teaching: The program is delivered fully online and uses the Blackboard learning management system. Students have access to facilitators via email who will respond within 48 hours on weekdays.
Careers: Graduates may find entry-level/assistant environmental positions in areas such as:
- Regional or local authorities
- Environmental monitoring/testing
- Relevant government departments
- Farming industry Students may also progress to higher-level studies like the Bachelor of Environmental Management at SIT.
Other:
- Students must have a computer with internet access to participate in this program.
- A progress report is sent out 6-8 weeks after the end of each intake.
- The program offers a flexible study path, allowing students to select the number of papers they wish to complete per intake.

- Minimum age of 17 years at the time of enrolment.
- Minimum of NCEA Level 2 attained with relevant achievements in environmental management or science related standards.
Mature applicants (Over 20 years):
- Successful completion of a program like NCEA Level 3 with a relevant focus.
- OR One or more years of relevant work experience in the environmental field.
- Admission is based on program regulations reviewed by the Head of Faculty and Program Manager.
- Personal motivation and a belief in one's ability is key.
Citizenship/Visa requirements:
- New Zealand Citizen.
- New Zealand Resident
- Permanent Resident. This can be demonstrated through:

- International Baccalaureate or A-level certificates with English language instruction.
