Course Schedule:

The program is offered full-time or part-time on-site or via HyFlex (hybrid-flexible) which combines face-to-face and online learning. The dates for the 2025 Semester 1 are February 17th to November 21st.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


University and College Pathways - School Leavers

  • NCEA Level 3
  • 14 credits each in three subjects at NCEA Level 3
  • 10-credits each in Literacy and Numeracy
  • IB diploma OR A Levels
  • At least a 24 on the 42 or 45 point scale or the equivalent in A level grades (for A levels, this can vary by subject, contact SIT to discuss)

Mature Pathway (20 years old)

  • At a minimum, you must be 19 years of age on December 1 of the year you want to begin SIT and have one of following:
  • Level 2 NCEA or equivalent *Completion in the past four years of an approved University, polytechnic or secondary school qualifications (NZQF Level 3 or higher ) with a minimum GPA of C
  • Please be aware if choosing the work/alternative experience option, your application will need to go through a lengthy assessment process and there is no guarantee of entry *
  • # Overseas Applicant Pathway
  • If a visa is required to study in NZ please ensure to apply well enough in advance
  • If it is required you have an IELTS score of no less than 6 and no subscores less than 5
  • English language requirements overseas applicants

Language Proficiency Requirements:


For international students:

  • The Bachelor's degree is taught in the English language.
  • Therefore all students for whom English is not their first language must demonstrate the required English proficiency.
  • IELTS score of a minimum 5 with no band less than 5 or a TOEFL with a score of
  • You are exempt from any of these requirements if a previous qualification has been completed and taught entirely, in English in a country on the Approved Counties List.
