Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


Domestic Students:

  • New Zealand University Entrance or equivalent
  • Minimum of 60 credits at NCEA Level 2 including:
  • 14 credits in English (12 in reading and writing)
  • 14 credits in Mathematics (Calculus recommended)
  • 8 credits in Physics
  • 8 credits in Chemistry
  • Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

International Students:

  • Completion of secondary school education or equivalent
  • Satisfactory results in recognized English language test:
  • IELTS (Academic) with an overall band score of 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any component)
  • TOEFL (iBT) with an overall score of 79 (no less than 20 in Reading and Writing, 19 in Listening, and 18 in Speaking)
  • Pearson PTE Academic with an overall score of 58 (no less than 50 in Reading and Writing, 50 in Listening, and 50 in Speaking)
  • Academic transcripts and references required
  • Some programs may have additional entry requirements

  • Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the minimum language proficiency requirements listed above.
