Year 1 - Compulsory:
This year focuses on exploring historical and contemporary approaches to UK educational policy, alongside philosophical ideas in relation to education, psychological approaches to learning, and human development in different stages.
Year 2 - Compulsory and Optional:
Students explore how to undertake educational research and examine issues related to equality, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. They will engage in the placement module gaining practical work experience and choose from various optional modules focusing on Curriculum Studies; Comparative Education and Rights; or Families, School, and Education.
Year 3 - Compulsory and Optional:
Students undertake an independent research project on a chosen topic and pick three modules from a selection including focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disability; Social & Emotional Aspects of Teaching and Learning; Creativity and the Arts in Education; Youth Studies; and The Digital Child.
Course Schedule:
The timetable for full-time and part-time studies will balance on-campus learning with independent study and time for personal and professional commitments. Typical weekly breakdowns are provided for years one, two, and three.
