Professional Arts Practice MA (Distance Education)


Degree Overview:

This unique distance learning program focuses on the development of your existing professional arts practice. It is ideal for emerging and established practitioners, including artists, teachers, writers, curators, choreographers, and performers. The program is designed to be accessible internationally and is delivered entirely online.


Objectives:

  • Gain recognition and academic credit for your prior professional experiences.
  • Earn a globally recognized master's level qualification.

Program Structure:

  • Part-time, 18 months (over 3 terms)
  • Online delivery

Coursework:

  • Critical Reflection on Professional Practice (RPL) (10 credits): Reflect on your professional experiences and prior learning to position your professional knowledges.
  • Proposal for Independent Research (30 credits): Choose an area of your practice to research in depth and develop a detailed research proposal.
  • Independent Research Project (60 credits): Carry out the research proposed in the previous module, critically review its implications, and produce a professional artefact.
