Master of Aerospace Engineering (MAerospaceEng)

This program equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle challenges in the growing space and aeronautical sectors in Aotearoa. It is the first dedicated and comprehensive master's program in Aerospace Engineering in the country focusing on both research and taught elements. Here are the key highlights of the program:

  • Designed to create future talent for space and aeronautical industries
  • First full master's program dedicated to Aerospace Engineering in Aotearoa
  • Offers both research (120 and 180 points) and taught formats (120 and 180 points)

Structure:


Students complete the MAerospaceEng through either Research, in which they choose 180-point (120-point) options and complete either a (45-point) Research Project (AEROSPCE 791) option or a Thesis (90-point) (AEROSPCE 792 / 793) for their dissertation, or a Taught format( 120-point / 180-point).

All students are required to complete the following compulsory courses:

Admission Requirements

Domestic Students:

  • Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0
  • Alternative Bachelors Degree: Applicants with a relevant Bachelors degree from the University of Auckland can also apply, provided they achieve a
  • GPA of 5.0
  • in at least 75 points above Stage II
  • and
  • have
  • three years of relevant professional experience
  • approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
