Students develop artistic knowledge and craft through core courses, concentration-specific coursework, and art history. The program prepares graduates for careers in teaching, museum work, studio and commercial art, or further study.

This degree prepares students for professional or graduate study, or careers in teaching, museum work, and studio and commercial art. Students are encouraged to explore courses in both concentrations and are required to take at least one course in the area outside their chosen concentration.

- The program consists of 44 credits spread across core introductory courses, core capstone courses, art history core courses, and fine arts or media arts concentration courses.
- These combine with the liberal arts and sciences core curriculum and electives to meet the program's required 120 credits.
