Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements:
For International Applicants:
- A first degree in Law from the United States earned from an ABA-approved law school or an equivalent first degree from a law school outside of the US, which has a strong component taught in the common law tradition.
- GPA: A 3.6 GPA on the UB 4.0 scale.
For Non-Native Speakers:
- An English proficiency exam score that is at least equivalent to the following scores on commonly accepted tests:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet-based score of 90,
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): overall band score of 7,
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): score of 59, or
- Cambridge Assessment English: Advanced (CAE): overall score of 185. If any of the requirements above are not met by an applicant, it is recommended to consult with an admissions advisor.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- While not a specific requirement for the LLM, the Law Admission Test (LSAT), TOEFL or IELTS is beneficial to your application as they are used in the awarding of scholarship and fellowship funds and in determining your likelihood of academic success in law school.
