This advanced short course builds on the teachings of "Web Development using PHP Part 1" and introduces MySQL, a relational database management system developed by Oracle and based on the industry standard structured query language (SQL). It demonstrates how to integrate MySQL into a web application with a PHP back end. Combining PHP and MySQL allows developers to build dynamic web applications with login systems, e-commerce features, and other functionalities. Participants will learn to create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) data using web forms, utilizing these skills for various applications. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Build a single point of entry website
- Use MySQL workbench software to create and manage databases
- Connect to a MySQL database from a website using PHP scripts
- Create, retrieve, update, and delete data in databases
