Program Overview
This online course provides flexible training in British Sign Language (BSL) assessment. Participants engage in monthly webinars conducted entirely in BSL, focusing on language acquisition, linguistics, and test administration. The course requires sufficient BSL fluency for active participation in webinar discussions.

The course can be completed flexibly by participants and all modules are online. Monthly webinars provide opportunities to interact with staff and other course participants. Webinar sessions focus on sign language aquisition and linguistics, scoring British Sign Language (BSL) narratives and grammar and carrying out the test. Webinars are conducted entirely in BSL. Course participants are required to have sufficient fluency in BSL to follow and take part in webinar discussions.

Standard home offer:
- A Level: AAA

- 35 points overall with HL4/SL 5 in Mathematics and English
BTEC:

Access to Higher Education:
- Pass the course with 45 Level 3 credits which includes a minimum of 30 credits at Distinction level with the remaining 15 credits at Merit or above.
T Level:

Contextual Admissions:
- We apply a contextual admissions process for UK undergraduate applicants who have been in care, attend a low performing school, live in an area where few students go to university, or are the first generation of their family to enter Higher Education.
- Those who are eligible may receive a conditional offer with reduced entry requirements, typically up to two grades lower for A-levels and one grade for the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- IELTS (Academic, UKVI or IELTS Indicator): 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any sub test
- IELTS One Skill Retake: Must be taken within six weeks of previous IELTS test. Accepted for one sub test where all other components and the overall score have been met.
- Language Cert International ESOL: Language Cert B2 Communicator High Pass
- TOEFL (Test centre or iBT Special Home Edition): 92 overall (24 Writing, 23 Reading, 22 Speaking, 21 Listening)
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 59 overall with minimum of 59 in each sub test
- Cambridge English Advanced (also known as Certificate in Advanced English): Grade C (180 overall) at CEFR Level C1 with minimum 170 in each sub test
- Cambridge English Proficiency (also known as Certificate of Proficiency in English): Pass qualification (all grades accepted)
- Oxford Test of English 130 overall with minimum 120 in each sub test.
- English Language Qualifications:
- IGCSE: English as a First Language (Syllabus 0500 & 0522) or English as Second Language (Syllabus 0510 & 0511) at Grade B or above
- International Baccalaureate: Grade 5 at Standard level or Grade 4 at Higher level
- Trinity College (Integrated Skills): ISE III – pass in each area
- INTO City Pre-sessional English: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any sub test (NB. Must be the 6 or 8 week Bayes-specific course)
- Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE): English Language Examination grade 4 or above
- GCSE English Language Grade C/5 or above but 1) Qualifications must be issued by Ofqual, SQA, Qualifications Wales or CCEA regulated body in the UK; 2) Education must be undertaken in a UK school
- A Level English Language Grade C or above but 1) Qualifications must be issued by Ofqual, SQA, Qualifications Wales or CCEA regulated body in the UK; 2) Education must be undertaken in a UK school
- Vitnemal English grade 5
- French Baccalaureat: 14/20 in English
- Malaysian GCE O Level (SPM-1119 syllabus only): grade A.
