- Research methods training: Applicants whose academic profile shows no evidence of training in research methods, may be recommended to first complete an MSc or MRes programme to prepare them for MPhil/PhD studies.
- Clinical MRes programme: Applicants for the Clinical MRes programme must be registered with a clinical professional group such as Medicine, Optometry or other Allied Health professions.

All the above requirements apply to international students as well, with the additional requirement of:
