This program comprises three levels (basic, intermediate, and advanced), each spanning 34 weeks with one 7-hour school day per week and four working days on-the-job.
- Basic Level (0185) covers foundational knowledge and skills related to hand tools, measurement tools, machine operation, safety procedures, basic welding and fabrication, electrical and electronic control concepts, and introductory drawing interpretation.
- Intermediate Level (0186): expands upon these skills with more complex machining operations, power transmission systems, advanced welding techniques, hydraulics and pneumatics, and electrical systems and controls.
- Advanced Level (0187): delves deep into applied mechanics and thermodynamics, machine installation and setup, material handling systems, preventive and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced industrial systems. This program is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and offers the potential for various financial grants to support apprentices. It also qualifies as a Red Seal trade, granting graduates access to nationwide employment opportunities.
