Academic Qualifications:


Honours Degree:

An Honours degree of 2:1 or above, or equivalent, in a health-related area:

  • Public health
  • Health and social care
  • Public health nursing
  • Nutrition
  • Pharmacology
  • Health psychology
  • Dentistry
  • Or any other degree deemed appropriate by the admissions tutor

Qualifying Medicine:

Qualification in medicine, with a focus on public health medicine or community medicine.


2:2 Degree:

A 2:2 degree in a health-related topic with additional public health experience may be considered.


Non-standard Qualifications:

Any ‘non-standard’ qualification judged by the award team to be equivalent to the above, such as a relevant professional qualification or public health-related experience.


Extensive Experience:

In exceptional circumstances, a minimum of three years’ experience at a senior level in a public health or related field might be accepted.


Language Proficiency Requirements

For non-native English speakers, an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any component is required.
