This negotiated professional/short course on Ultrasound Guided Brachytherapy provides participants with advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise in utilizing medical ultrasound within their chosen area of specialization. Upon completion, participants will possess the capability to effectively apply theoretical knowledge in practice, analyze complex situations with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology, and demonstrate critical knowledge of legal, ethical, and organizational aspects in the ultrasound field. Participants will be equipped to evaluate current research on various pathologies and their management, implement new procedures and adapt to unique situations. Furthermore, participants will learn to perform a comprehensive range of ultrasound procedures in their chosen specialty. They will refine their communication skills and contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary professional community. The program focuses on a specific sub-specialty area within ultrasound practice, which is negotiated between the participant, module leader, and workplace manager.   • This module also covers essential aspects like professionalism, codes of conduct, occupational standards, departmental protocols, continuing professional development, clinical governance, work-related upper limb disorders, communication skills, reporting of ultrasound images, and action learning.

Schedule:

Scheduled learning comprises a minimum of 28 hours and varies based on the chosen subject. It involves lectures, seminars, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, workshops, external visits, work-based learning, and supervised practice time in the scanning room. Independent learning constitutes at least 122 hours and focuses on activities like reading, case study preparation, assignment completion, computer-assisted learning, simulator scanning, and reflection on learning. Participants will be assigned action learning sets and engage in collaborative projects.
